POSITION TITLE: Office-Operations Manager/LPN
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Executive Director
DEPARTMENT: Administration/ VNHC
CLASSIFICATION: 0.6 FTE
LOCATION: Skagit County
JOB STATUS: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY: Represents the interests of each branch office to VNHC corporate management. Works as a member of VNHC corporate management team and manages day to day operations of VNHC office. Supervises administrative staff. Directs clinical aspects of home health care program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates, monitors and tracks work activities and projects for staff. Ensures key tasks are completed in appropriate time frame
- Oversees personnel issues: screens prospective employees, oversees and/or conducts orientation, targets problem behaviors, conducts and documents disciplinary action, works with other managers to resolve issues, uses services of HR consultant when necessary.
- Assures day to day compliance with state licensing requirements for home care and home health, including documentation and client record utilization review.
- Responds to fluctuations in need for scheduling/support and staffs office accordingly
- Models positive and empowered problem-solving approach
- Exhibits ability to exercise leadership coupled with tolerance and understanding, as well as with appreciation and respect for the special abilities and skills of others.
- Tracks and coaches performance of office staff
- Monitors compliance with state WAC’s and Department of Health regulations with the goal of deficiency-free surveys
- Acts as spokesperson and referral source for the agency in each area.
- Builds relationships with referral sources in local community
- Monitors and compiles reports including but not limited to the following:
- Hours of service: goals versus actual
- Turnover
- Absenteeism
- Implements policies and procedures equitably and consistently
- Acts as after-hours and weekend on-call supervisor on a rotating basis.
- Participates in activities and meetings as needed.
- Works with Executive Director and management team to develop VNHC budgets.
- Maintains personal responsibility for professional growth and development
QUALIFICATIONS;
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Two years supervisory and/or management experience desired.
- Two years recent clinical experience with broad-based assessment skills required.
- Home health care experience desired.
- Professional and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Proven capability of effective decision making day to day and under stressful circumstances.
- Ability to prioritize and organize daily tasks.
AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Works as a positive member of VNHC management team to achieve agency goals and objectives.
- Access to reliable transportation along with proof of automobile liability insurance. Employee will be driving to the home of clients and to meetings as required.
- Current Washington State driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record
- Tuberculin test upon employment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
- Ability to operate automobile
- Ability to communicate via telephone
- Ability to sit for periods of time
- Ability to operate a computer and/or other office machines.
- Ability to work in an office environment.
