Position Title: Nail Care Aide
Accountable to: Home Health Supervisor
Department: Home Care
Classification: 0.5 1.0 FTE
Location: Skagit County
Job Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Nail Care Aide provides nail care to individuals as defined in VNPS nail care procedures including clinics and in-home care. The Nail Care Aide implements the care plan. Scope of work includes providing grooming services to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provides nail care grooming service to individuals per established VNPS nail care procedures.
- Works within scope of grooming, non-medical service. Directs clients to a physician or podiatrist if unable to provide service due to thick nails, corns, calluses or open skin.
- Follows infection control policies and disinfects supplies accordingly.
- Documents, records, collects and returns all nail care clinic moneys to VNPS.
- Demonstrates effective listening skills and communicates in kind, professional manner.
- Observes and reports any changes in clients’ foot condition to Supervisor.
- Completes documentation on info sheets, schedules and time sheets in accurate manner.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED, two years of recent relevant experience, current CPR card.
Agency Requirements:
- Works as a positive member of care team of VNPS to achieve agency goals and objectives.
- Tuberculin test upon employment and annually thereafter.
- Access to reliable telephone, message phone or answering machine.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Current Washington State driver’s license.
- Proof of automobile liability insurance.
- Current driving abstract from Washington State Department of Motor Vehicles
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to do a full transfer for an average sized adult.
- Ability to lift, stand, sit, reach and bend.
- Ability to get up and down from low stool and remain seated on low stool for up to 30 minutes.
